With more than a decade of experience in secondary and university classrooms, I approach teaching as the formation of intellectually engaged, morally reflective learners. My courses integrate historical inquiry, seminar-based discussion, and primary-source analysis to help students think critically, read closely, and recognize the ethical dimensions of human experience.
My teaching incorporates artificial intelligence as a tool for cultivating digital literacy. Through “reverse historiography” and source-analysis exercises, students learn to identify bias, evaluate digital authorship, and interrogate the assumptions embedded in AI-generated texts. These practices encourage responsible, transparent use of emerging technologies while strengthening historical method and critical reasoning.
I have extensive online teaching experience through Miami Dade College Online, the Gilder Lehrman Institute’s MA Program, and Central State University. My digital courses prioritize structured learning pathways, active engagement, and evidence-based historical thinking through discussion boards, video modules, and guided document work. This foundation informs my broader commitment to accessible and high-quality online instruction.
My curriculum work includes redesigning AP U.S. History and Dual Enrollment courses, aligning multi-grade Social Studies sequences, and contributing to the revision of a seven-year theology curriculum that integrates ecclesiology, spirituality, ethics, and Catholic identity from grades 6–12. These projects reflect my commitment to coherent, mission-driven curriculum design that supports both academic excellence and whole-person formation.
